Two new pages again - Bvlgari Aqva series and Hugo Boss 'Hugo' series

We've produced another two articles in recent weeks, focusing on the Bvlgari Aqva series of fragrances (Bvlgari Aqva, Bvlgari Aqva Marine and Bvlgari Aqva Amara) and the Hugo Boss 'Hugo' series (Hugo Man [if that is indeed what that cologne is called], Hugo Just Different and Hugo Red).

(Just click the green links to be taken straight there!)

We have to say, Bvlgari Aqva feels like an Acqua di Giò clone, and Aqva Marine is only marginally more interesting. The bitter oranges of Aqva Amara are the best of the lot, but none of these colognes will stun you with their originality.

Original is one thing it is not...

Original is one thing it is not...

And then there are the Hugo fragrances: these are good, but basic. Again, don't expect these to shake up your EDT rotation much. Nothing wrong with them in their straightforward simplicity, if you're a conservative sort of person...

... but that's why it's so strange that Hugo Boss market them for the trendy, sociable young guy who makes up his own rules.

The Jared Leto ad campaign is totally at odds with the solid but pedestrian fragrances under review as he destroys lights by sheer force of willpower and changes day to night with a flick of the wrist. Something as mainstream as Hugo Boss is not the brand to turn to if you are looking to stand out (or indeed acquire God-like powers of telekinesis)...

Anyway, have a look at our articles, see what you think, and if you like them, please share them!
